Audio in Multimedia covers the application of audio in various forms of content such as standalone audio, audio with stills, audio with moving images and audio combined with text. This course will cover the basics of sound and how it works, recording, mixing and the proper way of using sound as a medium for presentation.

Audio is arguably the most neglected part of media production. That is why there is a very good chance you have encountered a sound-related issue in a media content or project. This course aims to help you identify, analyse and find a solution to these issues. By the end of the trimester, you should be able to:

  1. Have an adequate understanding of the basics of sound and how it works
  2. Develop baseline critical listening skills
  3. Operate audio recording and editing software and apply principles and techniques for their effective use n actual practice
  4. Deploy and incorporate audio as part of a multimedia project
